There’s something special about the people who make Teeki Boutique part of the way they move through the world. For Desi Springer, movement is about far more than exercise. It’s a way to connect more deeply with the body, mind, nature, and the people around us.
As a teacher and co-founder of Bowspring, Desi has spent years exploring a new approach to movement and body-mind training. She’s also a longtime member of the Teeki Boutique community, with a love for pieces that move freely, feel good, and maybe, just maybe, occasionally multiply in your leggings drawer.
We caught up with Desi to talk Bowspring, daily inspiration, her Teeki Boutique history, favorite prints, and what she’s reading right now.
For those who are new to it, what is Bowspring?
Bowspring is a path from the linear, standard model of posture to a new wave of elastic, total-body activation. It goes beyond the physical, influencing the somatic and energetic self while allowing us to explore our physical, mental, and emotional potential.
At the heart of the practice is the “Radiant Heart,” an awareness of expanding and elevating the ribcage away from the hips. You’ll also hear playful cues like “seed hands” and “taco feet,” which help create balanced engagement throughout the body.
It’s one reason Teeki Boutique feels so natural for the practice. The lightweight, flexible fabrics move seamlessly with the body and the elastic nature of Bowspring.

What inspires you daily?
I am deeply inspired by nature, my little five-year-old girl, and all of my students who are bravely self-reflective and willing to recalibrate themselves to rise to the occasions of life.
How long have you been wearing Teeki Boutique, and what keeps you coming back?
I was gifted my first pair of Teeki Boutique pants many years ago, and I’ve been connected to the brand ever since.
The quality is unsurpassed. The fabric is thin, dries incredibly quickly, and moves wherever the body moves without impediment. The cuts are as flattering as they are practical. I love Teeki Boutique shorts more than any other brand on the market.
I also feel good supporting Teeki Boutique as a woman-owned company with an environmental focus that supports and elevates its community. There’s an alignment between the way I want to move through the world and what Teeki Boutique represents.
What is your all-time favorite Teeki Boutique print or style?
Sisters of the Sun is definitely a favorite, along with the unicorn print where the unicorn was running down a sandstone canyon [Unicorn Wrangler].
I don’t remember the name of that print, but funny enough, I had one pair of those pants years ago, and I still have them. Then one day, I went to look in my leggings drawer and somehow there were two pairs!
I have absolutely no idea how that happened, but I like to think Teeki Boutique pants are so miraculous that they even duplicate themselves in your drawer.
What are you listening to, reading, or loving right now?
I love practicing to music! I’m working on putting together a playlist to share because music is such a wonderful part of movement and practice for me.
As for what I’m reading, one book I’m really enjoying right now is The Essential Rumi, translated by Coleman Barks. There’s something about Rumi’s words that pairs beautifully with the kind of reflection, openness, and connection I find through movement.
More Movement, More Connection
From her work with Bowspring to her connection with nature, motherhood, movement, and community, Desi reminds us that what we wear and how we move can both be expressions of something much bigger.
We’re so grateful to have Desi as part of the Teeki Boutique community, and we’ll be patiently waiting for that Bowspring playlist.
